    Hello-

I was wondering if one of you Ibanez guru's might be able to help me with a question; on the pearl SDGR brand plate of the 3006 Prestige, there is a number printed on it. From where I know they usually put the serial number, I'm thinking that's some sort of make/order # ID for the bass itself?

Asking because I've had a 3006 for several years, and awhile back I stumbled across one for sale that the number on that badge happened to be one digit off of mine (the last digit-which of course now makes me wonder if the guy still has it for sale so I could get two "off the line" that close together, especially since these are relatively older instruments).

I have searched the web and can't find anything specific as to what that number represents.

I'm wondering about that 5 digit code as well. I have an Ibanez SR3000E SOL Prestige that i got over a decade ago. Trying to date it has been to no avail as everyone says the serial number should be on the back of the headstock and there isn't one there. Only number i can find is that 5 digit code on the inlay.

Hi this is an old post but was there an answer to it? I have a 3006e and it also has a 5 digit number (53911) on the inlay and I'm trying to date it.

I bought the bass new in the early 2000s but I can't recall whether it was in 2003 or 2004...

It's the serial number, if memory serves me well the documentation in the case tells you that too.

If you want to date it, just go through the Ibanez catalogues. They only made the 3006 for a year or two before changing the spec entirely.
