My boogie kicks when it works properly, but recently when i turn it on every now and then it does not reach full volume......and it distorts. could this be that it is not getting enough juice out of the wall? A bad tube (i just retubed....)?
any ideas? Maybe i should get a power conditioner? :help:

If you just retubed, you may have gotten a bad tube to begin with...

i was wondering about that.....but it worked perfectly for several days, thats what makes me wonder about the power source....sometimes its good to go, sometimes its not...

When I first got my Mesa 400+ (used), it had just been retubed. So I plugged it in at the store, and after a few minutes it just broke into distortion at any volume. Tubes act wierd sometimes, but after a tech replaced the pair of bad tubes, it was good as new.

    Sounds like a tube issue.

I'm GLAD my 400+ doesn't distort. It sounds "tubey" and warm WITHOUT overdrive, which usually just muddies the mix.

Let us know how this works out. My first guess would also be preamp tubes.
