Ok, would they fit on a 35" scale bass, AND be playable, like not too tight or something?

They should be fine -- besides, TI's are known for looooooow tension.

Definitly aren't gonna fit. I talked to a retailer, hed had me measure everything out, and since the Traben is a String-Through on top of being 35" , I'll need so Extra Long or Super Long strings...

I'm looking for strings that are way deeper than the Elixer's that this bass came stock with. Something that will give it some mids and punch, and keep the highs from having too much bite. Right now the Elixers are really bright, and not for me.

    Any Suggestions?

Well, I KNOW that the Lakland Steels would likely fit...

I've been trying to find some strings to use on my parts bass, its a 34" w/ string-thru... I WAS going to use Rotosound 66's, but similarly, they did NOT fit...

Phil @ 5th Ave Fret shop suggested I give SIT Power Steels a shot... He didn't have any in stock, so I'm waiting on them...

Anyone have any experience w/ these? I'm dying to try them out.

Here's a reply I got from the Trbaen crew..

    "We use strings that are
between 45" and 46" long. Something a little shorter will work, but this
give room to tie. We have found that most brands that offer a string for
longer scales, specifically 35" scale work without a problem. Please let
us know if we can assist you further.

45 !?!?!?! what the hell. Being that it is 35" and a stringthough, i question that 35" scale strings would work.

Ask your flaming bridge, maybe it'll know. JK man good luck with that Traben. DR Hi-Beams fit up to 37" scale I believe, so they should work. And are you doubting your Traben teams' professional advice??? You have to trust your team man, teamwork......TEAMWOOOOOORK!!!!!!

The one I ordered comes with GHS Boomers on it... So I guess you could get those to fit. I've got a set of Blu-Steels which I've been saving for a special occasion, I might try those on it when I'm replacing the strings.
