    ...as it relates to strings.

I apologize in advance if this has been covered umpteen billion times like everything else, but I searched, and I'll admit that I might not have searched well enough.

Went and picked up a set of D'addario Chromes today, but I didn't pay enough attention and got the set marked as being for 36" scale instruments (the package says Super Long). My bass has a 34" scale. I wanted to ask (since I've never run into this before), if it might possibly cause any problems with the strings if I were to install these.

Taking it back for an exchange isn't an option, since, IIRC, these were the only flats they had for a 5 string.

    Thanks for your time, guys.

Nevermind guys, found my answer and I'm putting them on now. I'll post up my thoughts (on the Chromes as opposed to the roundwound Slinkies and Elixirs I'm used to) after I've played on them for a bit.

    Thanks!
