Hey, I was wondering if the output of a Bmax is mono or stereo. I got a Crown XLS amp, and I need to know before I get that goofy input cable made for it. If it's mono, it looks like I'll have to run a DI box between the preamp and poweramp (unless someone could tell me a better way). Thanks
Directly from the bbe manual - The 1/4 inch out is unbalanced. I have this pre and I run the xlr direct to the board - no DI. Sounds great.
I wouldn't be using the DI box as a line out to the board. I would be using it as a convertor between the mono cable going from my preamp to the stereo cable for my poweramp. Maybe I'll just ask a question on how I should go about making the cable.
I went through this process awhile back. What I ended up doing was going to Radio Shack, and getting a single male 1/4" to dual female 1/4" adaptor and this gave me two outs to my amp. This also allowed me to use the XLR to go to the board. I'm not sure if that's what you're trying to do, but it sounds like that would work for your situation. Good luck.
Also, I have an email in to BBE right now asking if the DI is pre, or post EQ, compressor, effects, maximizer, etc. I'm hoping for a response soon. Thought someone might be interested also, since the owner's manual doesn't specify.
