  2. They both look like very nice choices - P-90s are fantastic pickups, and, going purely on appearances, they both look gorgeous!

    The main difference between them appears to be in the wood. A basswood body with a maple neck (the Firebird) is closer to the Fender family of tones than Gibson, and could prove to be very versatile. If you were willing to upgrade the pickups some time in the future, you might end up with a very tuneful, versatile axe!
    The ESP is made of mahogany, and will have a much darker and thicker sound, so your choice appears to be between a bright & open sound, or thicker, punchier tones. Again, a change of pickups would get you well into "serious guitar" territory!

    The esp as better choice between the two imo. Id rate the esp ltd as better made to.
