Question for Michael - Bay Area

Discussion in 'Ask Steve Lawson & Michael Manring' started by peteroberts, Oct 8, 2002.

  1. Hi Michael,
I understand you live in the SF Bay Area.

I will be moving there soon. I can play, and need to get connected in the area. What should I do to market myself in the Bay Area? Any specifics you could give would be great (I am moving to Sonoma)

    thanks
    Pete

    Hi Pete,

Like anywhere else, I think it's important to meet people and play as often as possible. In my opinion, this area is relatively positive and creative. I find that folks here tend to appreciate working with musicians who are generally easy-going and open-minded, as opposed to some cities I've worked in where drive and determination are more valued. The music scene here isn't huge, but it does have a particular vibe. I hope you enjoy it! Welcome…
