So my favorite bass is my '74 Precision (pictured below). Does anyone know the window for this neck profile? At some point it changed in the 60's from a flatter shape to a chunkier one. The radius may also have changed. I'm trying to identify the start and end dates for this shape. I understand there may be subtle variations in each neck, even between instruments made in the same year, but it's this general shape that I'm interested in. I want to get a backup that feels close to this bass. I played one yesterday that I believe was a 1976 and it felt pretty close. Different logo of course, but overall pretty similar. Eager to hear from others. Thanks.

Cool, thanks. I think '75 may have been the last year of the TV logo. I had a '75 once with a nice fat neck but it weighed a ton. My '74 is about 9.5 lbs and manageable.

The bolder black Fender logo began in 1968 and continued through the end of CBS production in 1983. The chart below from a Bass Player article discusses the evolution of Fender P Bass neck profiles between the 50s through the 70s.
