Is it possible to use 57's or 58's?? All we have for mics are a D-112. a few 57's a 58 or 2 and some Audio Technica version of a 58. How would you use these to mic a drum kit?

If you got the time, experiment with different setups untill you get a nice sound.

What my first idea would be is d112 for kick, sm57 as overheads and maybe a 57 for snare, if possible a 57 for bottom snare and next to the beater.
You can put the 58's at the toms or as overhead and see how they sound, but a kick and 2 overheads can be all you need.

Is this for live or demo-recording?

    ... IMO

It will be mostly for demo recording.

A condenser-pair for overheads is prefered. You might want to get some.
