sry im just starting but when your playing a song and the tab says to play (for example) E---000222000666555---- does that mean to let each note ring for 3 beats or play each string 3 times? Thanx
  2. it means play it. I hate tabs but it is a good way to get started. the time values are harder to follow on tabs, but they assume you know the feel of the song from ear so it is usually no big deal.

Since most tabs have no good way of keeping time, those who create tabs generally only show you what to play, and leave it up to you to determine when you should be playing. As such, if you don't know the song very well or at least own a copy of said song, you probably don't want to rely on tabs to learn anything. In fact, even if you DO know or own the song, well... nevermind. :p

  4. All it means is play the note. 0 means play open string. 2 means play 2nd fret on the E string. You will have to figure out how long to play each note when you listen to the song.
