I've got an Eden WT-300 head that I want to record direct off the DI to my PC breakout box. I've read that with some amps you have to have a speaker cabinet connected to draw load or you can damage the head. I have an SWR Bass350 that specifically mentions it's ok to do this, but the Eden manual doesn't address the issue. Does anyone know for sure if this is safe to do with the WT-300? Thanks for any info...
well, i'm not an expert on this, but i would guess that it's okay to use the eden like that, since it's a similar design to the swr (tube pre, ss power). i think it's only all tube amps that need to draw a load like that. solid state amps are supposed to be fine with no speakers hooked up. of course, it's not my amp i'd guessing on , so make sure some expert person comes along and tells you what's up
Just downloaded the 2002 manual for the WT-300 and it states it is OK. I bought mine in 1995, back when you got a few photocopies stapled togther as a "manual". Thanks for the reply!
