Question: pre-amp distorts

Hi all, I was hoping if folks could chime in regarding distortion that I am getting out of my Ibanez BTB1605 when in active mode. Nothing of the sort when in passive. It doesn't matter if I roll down any of the frequencies or turn down the gain on my amp. Might this be a pre-amp issue or maybe just a soldering thing? Doesn't sound like the latter, though. Just asking in the hopes that I won't have to spend a bunch of $ to get it fixed...

 

Good point but I just had done that a month ago. Adjusting pickup height did the trick
