Question re: pre-amp tubes for Klystron 200 head

    It is time to change the pre-amp tube on thil ole puppy.

    I am looking to see if anyone has any suggestions for what to subsitute for a 12ax7 pre amp tube. I have been reading threads that talk about the different tones tubes have to offer. Or should I not consider doing it?

    I dont know much about this and I am hoping to tap into the wealth of knowledge here at TB.
