Just a quick question.
Does every Geddy Lee have limited edition written on the back of it?
Mine does! But it is the only one I have ever seen in person.
Mine does. I assume all the signature basses do.
Nope. The Sting doesn't, for certain.
mine has the limited edition neckplate, and Geddy's signature on the back of the headstock...
The one I owned & all the one's I've seen had the neckplate in question.
Why do you ask?
Mine is the same.
just wondering no big deal.
I have another question. How does the Geddy Lee compare to the 75' reissue?
mine had the sig on the headstock and limited edition stamped on the neckplate also. i sold this bass recently...it was nice but i didn't like the action or the sound. maybe i just prefer active basses. i definitely prefer the skinnier neck of other j-basses i've tried. several people have told me the geddy lee neck has the same dimensions as a rickenbacker. i don't know if that is true or not.
Unless they have recently changed the necks on the Geddy Lee, it has a slimmer neck than any of the production Jazz basses. Mine has a much slimmer profile than an MIA, and it is narrower at the nut, too.
about that active pickup thing.
I sometimes run my Gedd through a tech 21 nyc bass compressor. I get really good sounds out of the 2band eq and pickups. I mean it's a really good combo.
I have however wondered what a sadowsky outboard would sound like with it.
