  1. I currently own an Ibanez GSR 100. It has J style pick ups. I am currently looking for some new ones that can sound great when I play lows. The kind of lows that bass players in the metal bands play. So if any have suggestions feel free to help me out.

Well, any jazz bass is good for the metal, i mean, you could even pop some fender P/U 's in there. there are alot of replacemnt pick ups for a j style bass.

The instrument by itself is not very low oriented, so even changing pickups won't solve the problem.
Heavier lows would probably be brought by SD Quarterpounders, or in another style, EMGs.
Then again, getting another instrument would probably be wiser.
