Questions about neck warping

Hello,

I will admit I have a fear of necks warping. Especially with the tension of bass strings. I currently have 2 Fender basses and 1 Squier. I am never worried simply because finding a replacement is easy.

I want to get either a Spector or an LTD neck-through. However, I am so paranoid about a neck warping and having the bass become useless.

How many of you have ever had a neck warp? Even those in extreme weather.

Am I crazy to worry so much?

Thank you all for your help and knowledge. :bassist:

It's never happened to me. Not sure, but maybe if you keep them as straight as you can, the less chance of them later bowing up. It's harder to straighten a neck that's bowed to the max.

Keep your basses in their cases, away from the heating/cooling vent in your house. I hear changing your strings one at a time also keeps the neck strong, but I've heard otherwise on that subject, as well.

Don't let your concern hinder your playing. You can always get a new bass.

Thanks so much guys !

I am so paranoid my 64 RI is going to warp somehow but I am pretty sure now it won't.

Also I am saving to order a custom neck through Carvin so I wanted to get some basic info and see if anyone had ever had issues.

Thanks again!
