    Gawd...That is U-gly.

Almost as bad as hackin' up a whatchamacallit with 2 J-pups
in order to have a "rockin' " tone, tee-hee.

    :D

  2. hehe, did that guy make it himself? :D

  3. geez I definitely spent to much time reading hardy boys books when I was growing up.

  6. that's a hefty shim in the neck pocket.

did they have to shim all stingray's, or is this an isolated case?

i probably would have taken that out for the picture. that picture also doesn't seem to show the color well, sherwood green should be darker.

  8. I'm saving those stingray pics as an example of "how to take a classic bass and f**k it up completely".

That WOULD have been a collectible, IMO, if someone hadn't screwed it up, (e.g., finish is all wrong, too many non-original parts that don't enhance the instrument). To me, it's just another pawn shop orphan.

  10. personally in the ad i like the phrase

    "I'm NOT a Music man specialist... "

and then shows us the pictures so we know he ripped the thing apart.

  11. but could/would you save this unfortunate 'ray? (after buying it for a couple of hundred dollars though)
body refinish, original bridge, control plate, neck relacquer, string ferrules................ and probably then refret, neck straightening, no- forget it.

I could not, would not save that `Ray,
I shudder at the long, long days,
Needed to get that thing to play

I do not like Green Sh*t (or Spam),
I do not like them, Mock-Turtle man.

    :p

  13. but, with the technology we have today,
a new sunburst finish you could spray,
so who are you or I to say,
that it's curtains for this unfortunate 'ray?

ah, sod it, I was never any good at poetry.

  14. notduane, you are too funny!!!LMAO!!!

  17. All I can say is somewhere, a freezing cold ranger is hunting high and low wondering why the hell anyone would want to steal the planks off a 40-year-old park bench.

  18. damn i knew i reconized that color. :D
