Should I run my bass signal through my preamp or compressor first? I'm thinking compressor, but I would like a few other opinions. Thank you bass gurus.....;)

Try both, use your ears to decide.

I ran mine compressor first because that way my bass signal is solid from the get go, also if I changed setting on my preamp I would have to change settings on my compressor.

  4. Compressor first is the general rule of thumb. That doesn't mean you can't play around with it, though!

Err, that totally depends on what is meant by "preamp", and what the specific design of the compressor is, and what results you are trying to achieve!

Read the compressor and preamp FAQ links in my sig.

Different pre's and comps may be designed for different input and output levels, balanced or unbalanced, so RTM for both units to determine their specific needs at in and output. If they both take the same type of connection and signal level at input and output, then it is strictly up to the results you are trying to achieve, and what sounds best to you subjectively.
