    does (ab)[SUP]2[/SUP] = a[SUP]2[/SUP]b[SUP]2[/SUP]?

I'm working with recursive time series regression functions for econometrics, and I'm stuck halfway through a proof because I'm not sure if this is true or not.

Yep, it is true. Not sure of hte rule for your proof though.

  3. Well apparently it does!

It's validated by the rule of distribution.

indeed. It's amazing how many of these little rules you forget over the years...

Banana is the product of a recurving function.

What if multiplication isn't commutative in this group though :p ?

  14. LOL! Even I was thinking this as I read the OP's post.

    Actually, IIRC, a group is commutative (Abelian) iff (a o b)^2 = a^2 o b^2 and not the other way around. On a related note, I think a group is Abelian if (a o b)^n = a^n o b^n holds for three consecutive integer values of n.

The bottom line is, OP is most likely talking about values which belong to an Abelian group and thus this discussion is perhaps useless :p

Then you would be un-abel to distribute.

    (ab)[SUP]2[/SUP] = (ab)*(ab) = abab = abba

    a[SUP]2[/SUP]*b[SUP]2[/SUP] = aa * bb = aabb = abba.

and that's The Name Of the Game.

^ Assumption timexmoney is just overrated imo.

It is time+money, cause I think girls are less than evil.

    If Evil>4 obviously.

    ;)
