Dudes description is barely intelligible. Claims he’ll be adding to it to roll out the whole story until it sells… this ought to get interesting.

I remember a guy a few years back trying to sell a Jaco bass with a weird story. Is this the same dude maybe?

 

The way he writes suggests he may have a thing or two in common with Jaco, and I’m not thinking it’s his bass skills.

 

Also, just cuz I’m bored…

Fender logo on Jaco’s 66 Las Olas bass is in a different spot on the headstock as compared to the one on eBay. So, yeah, that was easy.

 

The seller updated the description, as promised, and it’s already making less sense, as predicted.

I am starting this listing at the time I left in my Pontiac Firebird for Jaco's Afternoon 4th of July concert in 1986. Paula Ilene Cohen told me about a concert Jaco was giving on Sullivan Street with guitar player Lenny Charles on July 4th 1986. Jaco had been staying with Lenny in a white tr step van with Colorado plates parked on the corner. "On The Corner" - has become code for some bass players.

So I will list this now and start telling the story until the bass is sold or the auction ends. STAY TUNED

It is a part of Jaco's life story, And the many he has and continues to touch. it's a long one. There is a lot of background. It will be added a little each day on the listing. The story is what the bass is about. The truth and nothing but. Because whoever does carry this bass forward becomes part of the story. And faith, and love have more to do with it than any Bass Player's Hall of Fame.
Entering New Text__11:34 7/4/86 now heading backto the car for NJ_ This is in essence of desires and Fender Lust a "FrankenFender" so around the time admin approved this post Ingrid on July 4, 1986 had already departed from Jaco across the corner on Sullivan where Lenny Charles plugged into the base of the light pole from the afternoon till the evening. That white step van with the Colorado plates where Jaco often found shelter and a caring soul or two to congregate and ensure he was free and happy. Jaco had summoned Ingrid to let her know things were going to be good again. He pleaded with his soul mate (as this recorder felt in her voice and emails) to help him make everything good again. He was back.
It was a darkened dusk when Jaco wearing and his American Flag Pants the bass has had given was reunited with spark. and I would ask if Jaco was going to accept the bass back, and he said. YAll of a sudden as if just noticing like when he saw me earlier. "Hey That's My Bass' the one that was his fist but the body of that bass suddenly appears when the bass of doom is broken. The Las Olas Body not to be found. Only a precision of the same year which fit the pre arranged request.. to get another lost and kindred soul to play again... The Bass of Doom was broken and suddenly. So where is the precision neck and who did it belong to. Was it in Florida because we started our spiritual relationship based on dispositional similarities talking about our first (electric) bass.. Mine a 62 P and his the 66 Jaz but he still has his. Losing your first bass is like losing your first love. You never really get over it.

 

I mean…. He says there’s a bill of sale and sworn, notarized statement… what could possibly be the issue?
