I have a Visual Sound 1-spot powering a couple of pedals and my big GT-6B all plugged into one power strip. Is there any possible harm in using the power strip to turn them all off rather than turning off (and unplugging, as some turn on when a cable is plugged into the output) each individual pedal?

It shouldn't hurt at all. I have all my stuff in my rack plugged into a power conditioner with a switch and I don't think twice about turning that switch on and off.

I'm pretty certain that all things plugged into your power strip will turn off fine with no problems if you use the power strip switch.
