Quick question from a newbie

i recently bought a dean 4 string edge pro, but for some reason i get this weird kinda static, its not my chords or amp, i tried 2 different chords and my other bass is fine. it kinda sounds like 2 pieces of paper rubbing together, im new to this forum and i think this is the right spot for this question, anyone have any ideas?
