my beloved #1, my 1st bass... she has been a dear friend, but damn was she unruly. years of sweat and booze hasn't been kind to her electronics, and I had to swap a pickup out years ago. well, the pots started to have dead spots and the hum and buzz was plain silly. soooo.... I eviscerated her, shielded the b'jesus out of the cavities and changed the pots. it was a good time to add the series/parallel switch . here's a few pictures... {} {} {} the old stuff was so gnarly.
{} {} {} {} {} {} I love how there are brass shielding plates under the control cavity and the pickups already, plus that sexy flat strip o' metal grounding the bridge.
{} {} {} {} {} neck pickup (the one replaced 14 years ago) has a cracked magnet. I super glued it back together. changed some of the foam.
This is the wiring I used for the Series/Parallel switching {} I had an Alpha 250k push/pull in my parts bin, so I used it on the tone knob. The diagram was posted by @bholder in post#6 of this thread: CTS Push Pull / Pot for Series / Parallel --- HELP!!!
