    Hello everyone,
I am in the market for a new bass head, the quilter caught my eye, read everything on this sight, but didn't see anything on the real wattage of this amp ,quilter says 800 real watts, and i down loaded the owners manual, and it states that the power level knob on the front adjusts the peak power..is that RMS or program or peak? Or an other method of rating power.
    Wondering if anyone knows?
I may have missed the answer somewhere, but I honestly looked for an hour thru the threads..

The fact that Pat Quilter of QSC amplifiers is the designer, if those are not RMS watts, I'd be really surprised.
Most of the users report that it seems to have AT LEAST 800W if not more compared to comparably rated amps!

I read a review of one of his guitar heads.
Said it actually rated at 200 watts instead of the 100 it claimed.
Apparently Pat did that to keep clean headroom, reserve power, if you will.
I believe i read that the Quilter is closer to 1200 watts, but like the guitar head, we only really have access to 800 of those watts. The rest are for headroom and handling of transients.
And yeah, my ears agree with that every time i power up my BB800.

You should flip through the BB800 master thread, see what’s up.

Suffice to say, it is LOUD. REALLY LOUD.

Akin to some 1000w heads and amps I've owned.

ITS LOUD!!! It’s definely an amp where you’ll forget about worrying about peak, rms, or whatever

I've only played one for about 10 minutes, but comparing it to my own loud 900w rig, I would agree with the posters above. It's probably a very modestly claimed 800w RMS. The EQ is a little odd at first, but it's not complex, just different than the normal bass/mids/treble we always expect.
