Quite the interesting insectoid attacker...

    I was just relaxing in my room minding my own business, when I randomly feel something on my shoulder. So I brush it away and it feels wet or something. I feel it tumble down my back... SO naturally I think "What the hell was that?!"

    I turn on the light switch and see this little punk crawling around on the floor :mad:


    for size reference.


    Not exactly what I consider I welcome guest! I usually get a few annoying little bugs, and occasionally the random beetle (june bug) but this is a new one :|

    After some research I found out this is called a Mantidfly. Never seen anything like this before.

    Yeah that's the new kind of bug I heard about. They dispense a liquid that is slightly acidic and it covers their microscopic eggs. If you get it anywhere on your skin the eggs sink in and hatch into larva that eat from the inside out. Cool, man! Good luck with that.
