R.I.P. Jerry Orbach

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by Michael Jewels, Dec 29, 2004.

  1. I just heard on the radio that Jerry Orbach, star of Law & Order and Dirty Dancing has just passed away from prostate cancer.

    He was 69.

    R.I.P. Jerry.

I knew he had cancer, but the report I read on CNN last month said he was doing well and the cancer was under control. :bawl:

The article also said he was spinning off from Law and Order to star in a new Law and Order series.

Yeah I heard he was doing great too... that's a shame, he was really a good actor and a staple on that show almost since its inception. I'll drink one for Jerry, he was a good man in my book.

He was also a singer/actor in alot of Broadway shows. He was also the voice of the candle thingy in "Beauty and the Beast" (Disney version.)

Law & Order kinda sucks without his characters impartial sarcasm... he made the show.

Man, he was a helluva an actor. Yea, Law & Order was cool as he was one of the oldest characters (been there the longest) on the show.

    RIP Mr. :( Orbach

Just like a great musician, a great actor makes it look so effortless that it appears to be completely natural, that ANYONE could do it.

Jerry was one of those guys.

    Damn, what a shame. :(

...somehow, L&E will just not be the same without him around, Dennis Farina is...well...interesting, but there'll never be another Lenny Briscoe.

  15. I'm a big Law and Order fan, it was sad to see him leave the show, and it's really sad to hear of his passing.

    God bless you Jerry.

Yeah, Jerry Orbach a great, versatile actor. RIP. I always liked the "police" aspect of L & O than the Lawyer part.

  18. Then you weren't paying attention to McCoy's assistants!
