    Sad to see this.
I had just found his YouTube channel "Real Bass Lessons" a couple of months ago and he quickly became my favorite online teacher.

That's very sad, just watched a podcast that an Irish bass player did with him last week, seemed like such a nice happy guy

  8. I loved watching Jim's videos. He was a warm, sweet engaging man with a passion for the bass. He'll be sadly missed.

Man, I just recently found his channel as well and really like his approach. Going to be spending a lot of time with his videos. Tonight I went with the one that notreble posted, I guess it was his last one?

Great little pearl of wisdom there, the time that you play it *after* you get it, that's practicing.

I also like how he emphasis putting in the time to repeat and build muscle and vocabulary memory. I used to put a lot more time into practicing this way, guess it's time I got back to it!

Such a shame; i discovered him a couple of months ago when i received my fretless bass. Looked up for some information regarding the instrument (video #171) and that video alone was enough to make me a fan of his. A charming person, may he rest in peace.

Oh no-this is terrible news. I've enjoyed his Youtube videos for some time and purchased his books over the years. I was hoping to attend one of his weekend clinics one day. He was always so enthusiastic and genuine. So sad. RIP Jim. :crying:

I discovered Jim a while ago on Youtube and I value his contribution to the world of YOUTUBE Education. He was very determined to get his students to be the best they could be. I was shocked to learn of his death. So sad. Condolences to his family and his students here and elsewhere. We owe you a big Thanks. God Bless Jim Stinnett. You will be missed.
