  1. Whats cases are better, SKB or Gator?

I know the ATA style cases or the Mesa SUS case would be ideal, but i think they would be overkill

Just need something for my SVT II to be in getting from A to B

So, whats better SKB or Gator, or is it a case of six and half a dozen?

  2. great, someone put other without saying what :p

seems to heading towards SKB, cool :)

Gator, But I would rather buy an ata flight case instead.

ALL of Gators cases will stack on one another, this is a problem with skb.

Grundorf builds them like tanks. My Grundorf fell off the back of a truck at 65 with a Hartke 3500 inside. I had to replace one of the metal corner guards on the rack, but other than that, no damage.

None of the above ... Calzone or Anvil

I on the other hand now have two SKB's that have done OK. The word best doesn't come to mind. Adequate does though ... decent bang for the buck. If you do your own load in / out and don't throw your stuff around, really any enclosed rack out there will be fine.

I forgot to mention. I busted the latch on a 4 year old SKB case. Called them to order the replacement part. They shipped it and the instuctions. No charge. You can bet my next rack will be from them. I do very much appreciate customer service...

I guess I'm vote #2 for Gator over SKB.

I just doen't like the SKBs in the same price range as the Gators. They seem a little flimsier to me and I really wonder how well they would take an impact.
