Rack Ears GK 700RB same as 800RB ?

I have an original series Gallien Krueger RB700. I need to get rack ears for it. I found these for an 800RB. Does anybody know if they are the same? I only find ears for the newer 700RB elsewhere.

Also, it says 1/2 inch clearance on the top for the intake -- would a 2U SKB rack be ok? Do I need a 3U? Thanks for any help.

700RB - 2 rack spaces
800RB - 3 rack spaces

Thanks for the 2u vs 3u clarification. I think it's that the 700RB ears on their site are for the new one. The first version one's I've seen with ears don't have the extended pulls on the front, just flat angle brackets like the 400rb ears. These should be fun to track down!

There is the 700RB and the 700RB-II.
I can't say whether the ears are interchangeable between both models, but I'd be willing to bet they are. You can always ask GK.

They are probably also the same set that's on the 400RB-III, 400RB-IV, 1001RB, and 1001RB-II.

I had a local machine shop make me a pair of rack ears that were longer than the stock ones (that come with the amp) to allow the amp to be recessed about an inch further into the rack case to better protect the front panel controls if the rack ever fell on it's face with the front lid removed. I sold them a while back as I had sold the amp (700RB) years ago and they were just sitting in a box waiting for another GK that I never bought. The amp (I had two of them over the years) was really nice but I committed to micro amps full time (been using Walter Woods amps since the mid '80s).
