Just asking for opinions on rack mount multi effects processors, and if there is anything out there bass specific. The tcelectronics G Major seems decent, I want something comparable, but preferably for bass (and obviously with real time control for live use). Cheers...

get a BASS POD Pro. its rackmountable and its supposed to be excellent

  3. If you don't mind tweaking presets or making your own, Boss VF-1 works great with bass. There's usually one for sale on Ebay around $250. You'll probably need a midi controller for live use, maybe an expression pedal.

  4. I second the VF-1. I got one to replace my Digitech studio quad, and although it takes some getting used to, it's the best I ever had. And I looked at quite a number of processors before I decided on the VF-1 .

I have yet to look up this rack mountable processor, but I was wondering if it has a floor board type attachment for live performances. I have been looking at the Bass POD Pro as well, but with a limited supply of cash, I want to get the best I can for my money.

Also, how easy is it to use?

Any reply would be greatly appreciated.

  6. Two floor attachments you can use w/ vf-1. A midi controller that let's you use presets so that each switch is like a pedal, or anything else you want to do (you can program the box via the pedal). Also an expression pedal that lets you vary a parameter in real time (volume, wah, distortion, etc).

Easy to use? Once it's set up, it's just like a stomp box. Finding the right sounds and modifying to your taste can be daunting if you've not done it before. Like anything else, it gets easier after you work at it a bit.
