I have a Carvin R1000 which i recently put in a SKB rack, along with an ART power conditioner and soon to be added Rack Tuner.

Two questions, the amp is only held in by the front rails, and its fairly heavy, does it hurt anything to have it "float" without support except the rails?

And two, does any Rack case company make a case that is about 14 inches deep? the amp is 10 1/2 inches deep, but i would like to leave room to have cables in there and a bag so the 10 1/2 deep rack case wouldnt work, but the case i have is exceptionally large, like 17" depth on the inside.

    thanks

It's not a big deal (about floating the amp in the rack). I'm pretty sure the carvin R1000 isn't very heavy, so its not a big deal. those rack ears are very strong. just make sure that you put it on the bottom of the rack, so that it gets as much support as possible.
