Hi all , Doe's anyone have a good understanding on the best Rackmount Tuner for Bass ?! Long story short , after playing since i was 17 ( i'm now 58 ) , i have come to the conclusion that i need a Rackmount Tuner . After a knee Jerk reaction and getting on Reverb , i purchased a used Behringer and i don't like it! , so i got on Reverb and purchased a used Sabine RT-7000 . this is closer to what i am looking for , but does anyone make a modern up to date Rack mount Bass Tuner in 2021 ??!!
I never liked the Sabine I had. I still have one of the two Korg DTR-1 tuners I've bought over the years. These days, I'd probably get the Peterson; they were not around back when I got the Korgs, which are still excellent tuners IME.
I haven’t been able to find a Peterson rack-mount tuner on the Peterson site. Can you point to one, if it’s available? Thanx.
I'll check, but I know there at least used to be one. StroboRack | Peterson Strobe Tuners Okay, so it has been discontinued. Shame, really. I guess there might be some out there in the used market.
There was a time I thought that I wanted one, because they look cool when you're in the audience, but discovered, as you have, that they have largely been dropped by the manufacturers, and on further reflection figured out that it was easier for me to glance at my pedalboard than to turn around and look at my rack - and that I don't use the racked head for all my gigs - so I put one of these on my pedalboard and never looked back: They have since come out with the ST-300 version with a "mini" pedal variant. That being said, the big rackmount "Cylon eyes" *are* cool looking, and if you can find a used one you like, cheap, go for it!
Oh, man, that’s too bad. It’s a nice-looking unit. I love the Sonic Research unit, but I grew weary of the spinning dial. I use a TC PolyTune 3 these days. Not exactly rack-mount, I know….
my bet would be Korg Pitchblack Pro. it's not that sturdy if you don't baby your gear (it's a light plastic case) and some folks don't like the buffered bypass or reported their bypass went worse after years (bypass problems are not issues if you will be using the 'tuner' output from your amp).
All I can offer that is not stated above is that I have a Sabine 1600 that finds the note quickly and is accurate (as measured by my old Conn Strobotuner) $57 delivered Sabine RT1600 Rackmount Tuner | Sam Ash Lombard | Reverb
