rackmounting a QSC power amp

    Hello all,
I just purchased a QSC RMX850 power amp, and would like to rackmount it. Should I get a 2 space rack for it, or should I get a bigger rack for ventilation purposes?

Also, my preamp is a Raven Labs PHA1, can I put that in the same rack, or will the heat affect it?

    Thanks much,

You don't have to worry about venilation as long as the rear fan is not blocked. The rear fan pulls air through the amp which exits out the front. You could put your preamp in the same rack and have no troubles.
  3. Be sure to support the rear also.
  4. Although front rails are more than sufficient.

Definitely put the two in the same unit. I'd say a bigger rack is for expandability, not head reduction.
