I suppose this is bassist releated but it isn't so much about a bassist's tone or style so I decided to put it in here. I was just wondering how tall Jason Newstead is? I was reading a bio of him and it says he's only 5'9? He looks pretty big on the S+M DVD.

Idk, he HAS commented on being short and scrawny in HS. Not much changes once you hit 17.

Really? He looks way taller than James Hetfield and James is apparently 6'1.

I don't like him, really. His tone did not impress me at all on the S&M show.

 It's a very nice tone to my ears. I prefer him to Cliff Burton, as he was a more 'stay in the groove and make it heavy' type bassist. I know I will get flamed to hell for that, but it's my view.
