Rap Basslines!!!

Discussion in 'Tablature and Notation [BG]' started by Da LadY In Red, Oct 23, 2004.

  1. Hey, right now I'm trying to learn some Rap lines to pull out at the basketball games I'll be playing at my high school.

    Here's some that I've found

    Bonecrusher's "I ain't neva scared"

    ---------------------------
    ---------------------------
    --------2--------2-----2--
    3-0-------3---3----------3

The lead part of 50 Cent's "In da club"

    -----------------------------
    -----------------------------
    -12--11------11-12--9-11---
    -----------------------------

Chingy's "Right Thurr" (Completely correct, I think, finally)

    ------------10-----9------
    ---------7------7------7---
    -5---5---------------------
    ----------------------------

    The chorus distorted dealy

    ---------------14---------
    -12-----15------------15-
    --------------------------
    --------------------------

I hope you guys enjoy! I'll add some tommorow. Please add some onto the list!

  2. Try This for chingy's Right thurr

    G-----------------10----9-----
    D--------------------10---10--
    A----------9--10--------------
    E---10--10--------------------
For me it's the best position to get a smooth transition
    :bassist:

  3. Any of you got the TAB to G-Unit's "Wanna Get To Know You?" I know it's for 5-string. Love that line.

  4. What about that "Get Retarded" song? I heard it yesterday and noticed the cool bassline in the intro. Maybe not rap, who knows, I was paying attention to the bass!

  5. You want some rap/hip hop tabs ?

    There you go...

    -2---2-4--5----5------5---5----5---5--
    ---2--------5----5--3--------2--------

If you're lucky, I'll add "The Rough Ryder's Theme" tommorow.

well, first of all, vanilla ice didn't do this bass rif - queen did. unfortunately I don't remember which song, but vanilla ice blatently ripped it off.
second of all, the above riff is an octave too low. should be this:
    |-7-7-7-7-7-7-----------------------------------|
    |--------------7---------------------------------|
    |------------------------------------------------|
    |------------------------------------------------|

the queen song is much better than ice's version

  9. I agree with you but it should be something hip hop/rap related . Well it's Vanilla Ice.... :D

  10. BLACK EYED PEAS-Where is the love

    ---------2-------------------------------------3--------3------------
    d---3--------3--2-----2--3--0--2--3-----------------------------------
    a------3-----------3-----------------1------1-------1-----------------
    E---------------------------------------------------------------------

    or

    G|----------------------------------3---3-----|
    D|---3------3-2-----2-3-0--2-3----------------|
    A|------3-0-------3------------1---1---1---1--|
    D|--------------------------------------------|

    Outkast-the way you move

    G|------------------------------------------|
    D|------------------------------------------|
    A|--3---------------------------------------|
    D|-----3--------1--3---1---------------------|
    B|--------1----------------------------------|

    N.E.R.D-She Wants To Move

    G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
    D|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
    A|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
    E|-0---0---1--1--1-1---0---0---1--1--1-1---0---0---1--1--1-1---3---3---5--5--5-5-|

yeah that's what I thought it was. didn't know david bowie was in on it though

  13. I thought the second note was an F# - second fret on the E string?

  14. Wow, I think you're right. Nice catch. While I didn't compare the F# to the cd, it sounds good (and if I remember right) AND you play the F# on the second part of the phrase.

    Rough Riders Theme

    ------7------5-5------5-5----5---5------5-----5-
    -7-7----7-7------7-7-------7---7----7-7---5-5---
    -------------------------------------------------
    -------------------------------------------------

    Rough Riders Theme (continued)

    --------------------
    -7--7-7--7-7--7-7--
    --------------------
    --------------------

Finally, there it is. I like playing it down the octave, but that's "guitar riff," though it's definitely fun to play on bass.

I think the third note is a d# (e flat?) (6). Thanks for the tabs!
