Rare/Discontinued/Holy Grail (not the reverb)/sought after pedals...

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Insouciance, Jun 25, 2013.

  1. Hey TB!

I wanted to ask what some of the coolest/rarest/discontinued/sought after pedals are. Like the Boss VB-2, the original ADA Flanger, the Roland Jet Phaser, the Able Electronics Bassmaker, the DOD Meatbox...all those out there, insanely cool sounding odd ball pedals.

My question was sparked recently when I read Acid Age/Earthbound Audio was doing a Pale Mare fuzz based off of a Roland Bee Baa fuzz. Hadn't even heard of a Bee Baa fuzz...looked up some clips...was totally blown away. I am PUMPED for the Pale Mare now.

So now I gotta ask...what else am I missing out on!?!?

    Thanks everyone!

    Could this include rack effects?

Original Maestro Brassmasters are cool, rare, and STUPID expensive!!!
  4. Rack effects? Sure.

AND my goodness was I pumped to find out about the Brassmaster. I had to redefine my cognitive definition of "heavy". The Assmaster does more than a fine job to my ears too!

= two of the rarest but popular bass pedals.
  7. I will have to look up the Klon...interesting. I forgot to add in the Bass Whammy, too. That thing is beautifully silly.

Klon is a glorified Tube Screamer. Way overpriced IMO.

More importantly, what in your opinion, are the best clones of these ultra rare pedals?

For my money the Loud Button Morphine Dream pretty much nails the Roland AP7 Jet Phaser

IMO, a Klon doesn't sound anything like a tube screamer. I think they are overpriced too, but they are an awesome sounding pedal.

Schumann PLL, please pm me if you have one to trade, ill trade you my whole pedal board, haha
  16. No need to wait, Black Cat has been making a Bee Baa clone for a few years now, the Bee Buzz.

After seeing/hearing the Roland AG-5 Funny Cat, I'd love to get an original, although there are clones about.

There are 2 on eBay right now :)

On Effects Database I only have an incomplete list of "classics":

But if you go to the eBay listings you can see the most interesting (often rare) pedals on top (based on my own calculations using a lot of parameters, not just the sorting provided by eBay).

On any page you can go to related listings using the "related" or "more related" headers/footers in the right column.
    for all pedals: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/find/related/all
    for fuzz: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/find/related/type/fuzz
(there's a Roland Bee Gee Fuzz for sale right now ;))

I think FXDB is one of the only sites that receives "thank you" messages from visitors for the ads ;-)

El Capistan??? I'd put the Deluxe Memory Man (w/MN3005)
I don't think the Moogs, Eventide and the Wampler have achieved "Holy Grail" status yet... :meh:

in another topic... why is the klon so expensive??
