NO TRADES PLEASE Hello everyone, Since I now own a (new to me) Steinberger headless, no need to have 2 headless basses. Selling this rare gal for a very reasonable price (especially for one in this condition)! Is she dead mint, no....but she's in AMAZING condition for her age. Better condition than any other that I've seen for sale in the last 15 - 20+ years. Weighs just 6.57 lbs according to my postal scale. As you can see, she's in exceptional condition. Everything works great including the pickup slider lock assembly (which allows you to change where the pickup is positioned). The slider lock assembly was rebuilt last year and should be good now for decades to come! It's a tone chameleon with the sliding pickup. Straight neck, level frets, nice action. The gig bag is in wonderful shape too. When these come up for sale (which isn't often), most either don't include the original gig bag, or it's in terrible shape. This one is great. The zippers and straps are in great shape too. For the most part, the foam is l, with the exception of the areas where the bridge and head area are where the parts have a bit of an edge to them (this is to be expected). $575 and CONUS shipping only please. You almost certainly will never see a Rail in this condition again... {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
Is this the gateway drug to Steinberger headless basses? Funky piece of bass history there. Good luck!
I always thought these were the coolest. You can really dial in ANY bass tone. Now, if a luthier or someone who knows carpentry could add wings to it to make it look like a Status or something, you'd have the coolest bass around, not that it's not cool already, but you get what I mean. GLWTS , Fred !
Trivia piece When The Rail came out, I was shopping at a popular London, Denmark Road guitar shop...and was told the bass player performing in "Starlight Express" was using one on stage .
You can't have dropped more on a Steinberger than I did. I probably own the most expensive L2 in history. That's okay, I'll never sell her anyway.
That's her on Jeff Babicz' bench getting a full restoration. She is now a brand new L2 and she is phenomenal. Along with my Wal MK2, the 60 Fender Jazz Stack knob, and my 4001C64, all things Geddy can be recreated. {}
