Can a ProCo RAT Reissue (w/ LM308 chip) be modded for bass? If so, how?

  2. The Ruetz mod. Super simple too!

Cool, thx. The only thing that I see there that might potentially be less desirable is the fact that it "lowers the overall amount of gain in the circuit, transforming the pedal into more of an overdrive rather than a distortion pedal". I am in fact looking for something that can function as a distortion pedal (noticeable distortion/clipping within a band context). Do you think it'll still work for this w/ the gain reduction?

nevermind...I read it again and think I understand what's going on there. It lowers the gain primarily in the lower frequencies. Cool, sounds like that should work. Thx.

  5. Check out Pitchblack Electronics. I got a quote from him about modding my rat and it was reasonable and totally do able.

Clean blend, LED, reutz mod on a Pot, changing the input and output caps for better bass response and switching the power jack to a standard boss style. He said it would be like $100

Note that I have the big vintage box Rat.
