I was reading on David Gage's website, the part about the set up of the soundpost, and bridge. He says, the ratio of bridge top to legs should be 1 to 2. In other words, the legs should be twice as high as the solid part of the bridge is. I don't think I've ever seen a bridge cut in this manner, with the exception of a picture of Ron Carters bridge. In fact most I've seen tend to be a ratio of 1 to 1., and on some bridges the solid top part is more that 50% of the height. So my question is, what does it do for the sound of the Bass ?? If I have a bridge that is a 1 to 1 ratio, and I have a bridge made that is a 1 to 2 ratio, what change in sound should I expect ? I am very curious.
