Rattlecan refinish question, re: Antigua burst...

    Mods, I wasn't sure where this thread should go. I hope this is okay. Feel free, of course, to move it if there's a more appropriate place for it.

    Alright, so I have an old-headstock SX P-bass. Unfortunately it's in storage on the other side of the country from me and will be for a few more months.

    But I'm considering doing a refin on it (it's black currently.)

    Now, I have done a lot of refinishes in my day, though it's been many years. But I've never tried my hand at any kind of burst.

    I'd really like to give antigua a try.

    Does anyone have any tips on doing this kind of finish?

    Alternately, I might score one of those Saga bass kits and try an Antigua on that.

    Any guidance or advice is greatly appreciated.
