Ray34CA or SMB-4d pup??

    Ok, so here's the question I pose. I've pretty much decided what I'm going to do but, I'm curious what you all have for input. I'm modding another Sterling SUB ray4. The pre-amp has been changed to a Aguilar OBP-3SK/PP. The next thing to be done is the pup. I have a Seymour Duncan SMB-4d or a stock ray34ca pup too choose from. As far as what I play.. rather diverse. Metal, funk, contemporary, some country.. I do use pedals.. What do you all think, which should I use?

    I installed a SMB-4D ALMOST at the sweet spot, with an Aguilar OBP-1
    (Crazy Modded Geddy Lee Jazz bass ( SMB-4D + OBP-1 ))

    To me it sounds middy, almost too much for my taste, I wanted something more lane poor flea bass modulus tone-like.
