So I removed my EMG P pups and had to cut the wires. When I put them in a new bass I peeled back the braid and soldered the inner wire. Do I need to run a "jump" between the braids or what do I do, I would imagine the braid needs to stay connected, I have no signal and that seems to be the only thing I can think of?

  2. The braided part makes the - connection. You need to peel enough insulation back so you can 'unweave' the braid and twist it into a wire and solder it to a ground point.
