Man...Redwood fretless Zon is about as good as it gets. Redwood works particularly well with Zon fretlesses, from personal experience and from what Joe has mentioned.
I wish I could actually answer your question, but I don't think it will be very cheap...
    Good luck

i wouldnt mess with a good thing, i know your probably needing a frettless but man, i would change my playing style for that hehe.
  5. i'm gonna call Joe and cancel my subscription if he agrees to fret that beauty!!!!!!!!!!

    but, JEEEEZ!

    don't do it!

Zons are my fave fretless, and that looks like a redwood 519, doesn't get much bettah than that!

    who's selling it????

  6. ahhhh, its a special with bubinga.

not AS great a deal, but STILL!!!!

    with that EQ...should kick arse!

  7. Don't think its a special, look at the placement of the pickups.

I've played on one just like that and I just about died and drouled all over myself Homer-style. The mwah was balanced and gorgeous.

Just find a nice one that's already fretted. I'll swap you a fretted Spector Pro 6 for that :D

I cant wait to check out a special that arrives tuesday- fretless with a bubinga top- very nice.. Zons are killer!
  10. guess i aint won many friends here heheheeh...

I have seeen very very very few zon's in the UK (tho ironically there is another one on ebay but its alefty).

i have never really played fretless basses.. and for my style of music

    i play everything from
emo, harcore, punk.funk, jazz, metal, rock, blues etc etc i feel a fretted would work cant slap on a fretless ;)....

or would something like this be different..:p....

ordering a new one would cost around a £1000 more...

    s'poose there's alwaysthis

but i feel the Zon has a better set of elecy's and more tonal possbilities..andfrom what ive heard..a much nicer neck...
  11. yeah, huh?

weird. incorrect description in the auction!

must be a 519 then. i'd grab that sucker!!!

  12. Adrian,

    that's one ampin' top!

i've never played a special. i'd like to hear you comments on the tone.

  13. zen? wil you be my fren'?

    hehe, can't slap on a fretless... ;)

if i had the extra cash and if it was a US seller, that zon would be mine.

sounds like the styles you listed scream for something diff (like you said) FRETLESS!

i'm really surprized it hasn't been snatched up. especially since i read about euro players wishing there were more Zons over der.
