Re-heating a pre-cooked chicken?

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by Nickthebassist, Mar 13, 2005.

  1. Is it ok to put an already pre-cooked chicken(that was originally bought in a bag and designed to be eaten warm) back in the oven for about 20 minutes to re-heat it?

Of course-just take it out of the bag. Any sort of meat product that comes to you in cans or premade microwave meals has already been cooked.
  3. As long as it was promptly refridgerated.

The "danger Zone" for bacterial growth is from 50-140f. Once in that range you have 4 hours before the level get to high for human consumption.

So get a chick in a bag from the store, and it cools down for 1 hr. No problem, heat it up, eat it , or refer!

Note: I would never let it sit out for 4 hrs personally!!!
