Real experience with JBE R-4000 pickups in a Rickenbacker 4003?

    Anyone with real experience using a relatively new Ric 4003 with JBE R-4000 pickups installed?
    There are some posts recommending them, but none describing them in the real world.
    They look neat Ric, Rickenbacker, 4003 bass, 4001 bass | JBE Pickups and they are humbuckers, that's twice tempting.
    If someone can upload o refer to a video with real sound of this config would be great!

    I used the JBE bridge pickup loved it, neck not so much couldn’t raise enough to get matching volume and bite, went with Bart 4RT in echo really happy with that combo

    yep - here’s my real world experience

    have done 3 gigs and several rehearsals with my new JBE pickups (2017 4003)

    and I LOVE the sound!!

    i took out the rubber spacers for the neck pickup so i could get it as high as possible

    absolutely blown away by the difference

    much punchier - still got the ric growl when i want it - with the treble up on neck and bridge i can cut through the mix and still have superb bottom end

    took the plunge

    love these pickups!

    so much better - more punch, more growl when i want it

    Can anyone compare these to the nordenbocker neck p/u? I’m on the fence as to which to put in my 4003W.
