Really odd cliping problem

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by UrbanAssault415, Aug 12, 2005.

  1. I recently bought a gk backline 600, and i noticed it clips not while Im playin but when I turn it off. after I turn it off the green power light goes off then the red cliping light on the right goes on then slowly dims. I dont get it ther is no sound out put when the power light goes off so why is it cliping, I dont want to frie my speakers and amp. :eyebrow: :crying:

If there is no signal it can't clip. It's probably just the way the things wired up, they may be using the LED as a bleed off to drain the power supply caps on shut-down.

i called g/k and they said the same thing!!!! and when you turn it on, the first 5 secs is to charge everything up.

It's probably GK's way of making sure your amp doesn't send a nasty thud through the speaker when you turn it on or off.
