I need some info to check my basses pickup position so here goes.
What is the best way to figure the rear pickup placement on a jazz bass? 60's position.
Do you measure from the nut or the bridge? It seem the nut would be better because
of the different bridge styles. Anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Doug

According to the Berkley School Of Music it's 31 1/2" from the nut to center of pup. There's also a thread in the FAQ Luthier forum with standard pup placements.

Measurements are typically from the nut or 12th fret which are fixed, NEVER from the bridge as the saddles vary with intonation.
