Hi there, I just recently swooped up my girlfriends old squier affinity out of her closet, and decided it needs to be turned into a cool custom instrument... so i'm just wondering, how do you think a squier type body would work with active pickups? Any recommendations on interesting modifications? I'm thinking it might be fun to drill holes for through stringing or something interesting.

If you are going to experiment on a bass this is the way to go. P basses work well for modding because if you are careful, do some research and take your time, you can do pretty significant mods without having to do alot soldering. Just make sure that the stuff you get is compatible with Fender specs.
