My gig rig is a GK 700rb-II w/ an Ampeg 810.

I recently moved to an apartment so playing that thing isn't going to make the neighbors happy...

What I am looking for is a nice cheap combo amp.

    Something along the lines 110, 210, 112, 115.

What's good nowadays for around $200? New or used.

FWIW, I have had a ton of small practice type amps .. my fav is still the Peavey Minx ... 35 watts and 110 .. they have made 3 models, and I have 2 in different locations ... one ported and one sealed ... under $100 most everywhere ...

Because you obviously dig the GK sound, you cannot go wrong with the GK MB112.
You should easily be able to pick it up for under $200, used. http://www.gallien-krueger.com/products/combos/

The new GK combo range also includes the MB110, but new it's about $275 and I don't think it's anywhere on the market used.

GK and Ampeg, eh? Well you got the GK, so here's the Ampeg...BA110 and BA112 are pretty sweet. But if you really want to make sure not to disturb the neighbors, check out the BA108. For $100 it's hard to beat, even though it won't get all that loud.

  6. Couldn't agree more. I have 2 that serve multiple uses, backup bass monitor, electronic drum monitor, keyboard monitor, they even make a pretty good clean acoutic guitar amp. They are extremely versatile, portable(though heavy) , and exceedinly good sounding for their primary purpose as a practice bass amp

  7. I picked up a used Minx at GC for about 40 bucks. Very impressed. It's way beyond my expectations.
