Reccomendations on books

Discussion in 'Technique [BG]' started by bkchang79, Mar 15, 2003.

  1. I'm stuck in a rut and need to try something new. I'm looking for fingering exercises, endurance, good theory books, etc. There's so many books out there and want to avoid not using a book for future reference.

  2. As for theory books, Mark Levine's 'The Jazz Theory Book' is very good, even if you aren't that much into jazz.

And as for fingering exercises and endurance, check out 'Bass Fitness - An Exercising Handbook', which has 200 exercises to help improve speed dexterity etc.

I dont have a link for the jazz theory book, but here is Bass Fitness - an exercise handbook
